How to collect only the clips used in a DaVinci Resolve or Premiere Pro timeline

Short answer

In DaVinci Resolve use File › Media Management and choose Timelines to copy or move the media used by selected timelines. In Premiere Pro use File › Project Manager, select your sequences, choose Collect Files and Copy to New Location, and enable Exclude Unused Clips.

DaVinci Resolve — Media Management

Does Resolve Media Management change my timeline?

Copy leaves the original media in place. Move relinks the project to the new location — back up before moving.

Can I keep handles around used clips?

Both Resolve and Premiere offer trimming options with handles when copying or consolidating media.
